The Lansing Area Safety Council offers the Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training (BLAST) course for students ages 11-15. In utilizing the curriculum prepared by the American Academy ofPediatrics, the BLAST course provides training in the fundamen­tals of childcare, household safety, selecting safe and suitable games and activities, choosing healthy snacks, preventing accidents, developing your babysitting business, and so much more.
