The Lansing Area Safety Council offers the Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training (BLAST) course for students ages 11-15. In utilizing the curriculum prepared by the American Academy ofPediatrics, the BLAST course provides training in the fundamentals of childcare, household safety, selecting safe and suitable games and activities, choosing healthy snacks, preventing accidents, developing your babysitting business, and so much more.
